Celebrating Social Work Month!

Throughout March is National Social Work Month!

The Bristol Hospice team is celebrating our nation’s more than 680,000 social workers.

They confront some of the most challenging issues facing individuals, families, communities and society and find solutions that help empower, support and advocate for those in need.

Thank you for all you do!

Happy President’s Day

Happy President’s Day

This weekend, we will be celebrating and honoring all U.S. presidents past and present.

Abraham Lincoln said it best – “Leave nothing for tomorrow which can be done today.”

Bristol Hospice is graciously committed to our mission that all patients and families entrusted to our care will be treated with the highest level of compassion, respect and quality of care.

Happy New Year!

This past year we have had the privilege to care for many patients and families.  We appreciate all of you for putting faith in us to assist and care for your loved ones.

As we transition to a new year, we recognize all of the feelings that we have all experienced as our loved ones have transitioned to a better place.

We honor and love all of you and look forward to a 2019 filled with prosperity, health and good fortune.

Sincerely,

Your Bristol Hospice Staff and Family

Bristol Hospice Honors Our Nursing Home & Care Center Partners

nursing-home-week

Bristol Hospice recognizes that every care center is a small, vibrant world. Care centers are sharing, welcoming communities and an integral part of the delivery of care across the continuum. We are pleased to work with so many wonderful providers across the U.S. as we work together to support residents who are receiving hospice care in the final months and weeks of life in a nursing home or care center.

Hospice is a service, not a place. Hospice care can and does take place in nursing homes with specially trained hospice workers coming to the facility to provide palliative care to terminal residents who have elected, or whose families have elected, hospice care which focuses on end-of-life comfort rather than cure.

The 2016 National Nursing Home Week’s theme is “It’s a Small World, with a Big Heart” underscores the bond between staff and those in their care. Staff and residents view each other in the spirit of family. For staff, this reality is often a calling to a special mission and a life’s work. During this special week celebrating our partners, we extend our utmost gratitude for all you do!

The Bristol Hospice – Portland team recently toured The Bloom Project. They have been giving the gift of fresh floral bouquets to hospice and palliative care patients in the Portland area since 2013.

It was so wonderful to see volunteers making beautiful bouquets to send out to hospice and palliative care patients to share beauty, giving and joy during their end of life care. Thank you for supporting Bristol Hospice’s patients and families!

Bristol Hospice Celebrates National Long Term Care Administrator’s Week

Untitled1

Since 1994, The American College of Health Care Administrators has sponsored this national observance each March. Long Term Care Administrator’s Week honors and celebrates the important role the administrator has in providing leadership for the delivery of quality, resident-centered care and a supportive work environment for staff.

The entire team at Bristol Hospice appreciates all that LTC Administrators do to support excellence in care delivery.
